Ilo, is located in the South coast of Peru, to 1250 km of Lima and 200 km of the border with Chile.
Account with a population near the 80.000 inhabitants. Their main economic activities are miner--metallurgical, fishing, commerce and harbor activities; reason why one of the most important ports of the south of the Country is considered.
The province of Ilo, comprises of the department of Moquegua that is located the south of the country, formed part of the great Peruvian Coastal desert and Chilean Nor, reason why the environmental conditions are typical of hyperbarren zones as they are it the rain absence, irregular and steep topography.
The ground of the province of Ilo is generally "calichoso" in the urban helmet; rocky, "calichoso" and sandy in sandy "Wireless Pampas" and frank in the beginnings of hills; therefore one of its characteristics is the reduced supply of natural areas with presence of arboreal and bush species.
Ilo, in spite of facing highly limiting factors as they are it the type of ground and the little rain presence, tells on experiences in adaptation of forest species this type of climate and land.
